These terms govern the use of the ibouPCB service (the "Service") operated by ibou.ai Inc. (주식회사 아이보에이아이, the "Company"). The Service is currently in beta. By signing up or using the Service you agree to these terms.
1. What the Service does
The Service takes the Arduino / Raspberry Pi sketch you upload and the parts you select, and produces a browser simulation (L0), a breadboard wiring diagram (L1), Shield / HAT board files (L2) or module-on-board production files (L3), together with an automated verification report.
The Service does not manufacture boards. Ordering the generated files from a manufacturer, and the resulting contract, is between you and that manufacturer.
2. Nature of verification results
The logic verification (simulation), electrical verification (ERC · DRC), 8-pass verification report, auto-inserted-part explanations and certification checklist shown by the Service are informational. They do not warrant that a design is fit for any particular purpose, nor that it will work, be safe, or comply with regulations on real hardware.
The simulator cannot reproduce supply noise, ground bounce, EMI, sensor timing variation or component tolerance. Physical verification — confirming behaviour on a real board — is entirely your responsibility, and the Service never marks physical verification as complete automatically.
The certification checklist is a reference to help you prepare for KC, 技適 (Giteki), FCC, CE and similar schemes. It is not legal advice. The final judgement and responsibility for obtaining certification and for the legality of sale rest with you.
3. Your content and generated files
Sketches, source code and project settings you upload ("User Content") remain yours. The Company processes User Content only as needed to provide the Service (parsing, compiling, simulating, converting, storing, displaying).
Netlists, KiCad projects, Gerbers, BOMs, CPLs, pins.h files, reports and anything else the Service generates from your User Content ("Generated Files") belong to you. You may modify, distribute, manufacture and sell them freely, with no fee or attribution owed to the Company.
The Company may use statistics derived from User Content and Generated Files that cannot identify an individual (for example part usage frequency or verification failure types) to improve the Service. Original User Content is never published to other users or sold.
4. Open-source tools
The Service runs GPL-licensed tools such as KiCad, Freerouting, arduino-cli and Espressif QEMU as separate server-side processes. The Company does not link these tools into the Service's code and does not distribute them to users. Generated Files are outputs of those tools and belong to you under the terms of each tool's licence.
The in-browser simulators (avr8js, rp2040js), board viewer (KiCanvas) and part graphics (@wokwi/elements) are under permissive licences such as MIT; their notices are available on the Service's open-source page.
5. Fees and payment
Simulation, sketch analysis and verification reports are free. Payment is due when you download manufacturing files for an L2 board (once per project), and when you run an L3 production conversion (once per conversion). A conversion that does not pass verification is never billable.
Listed prices are launch pricing and exclude VAT / sales tax. Price changes are announced at least 30 days in advance and are never applied retroactively to items already paid for.
Refunds: in full before manufacturing files are downloaded. After download, a refund or re-conversion is provided when the Generated Files themselves are defective (Gerbers that do not open in the manufacturer's viewer, DRC results that differ from the report, and the like). Behaviour on a physical board is not a refund reason.
6. Accounts
- An account is created with an email address and password; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- You may delete your account at any time; User Content and Generated Files are then removed according to the retention periods in the Privacy Policy.
7. Prohibited use
- Uploading code or part data that infringes the rights of others
- Bulk scraping, copying or reverse engineering the Service's verifier, catalog or API without permission
- Relying on the Service as the sole means of final design verification for products directly affecting life or safety, such as weapons or medical devices
- Accessing another user's projects or account without authorisation
8. Beta service and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" during beta. The Company does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation or fitness for a particular purpose, and features, catalog entries and prices may change with notice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company is not liable for direct or indirect damages arising from manufacturing, assembling or using Generated Files, including board fabrication costs, damaged components and business losses. In no event does the Company's total liability exceed the amount you paid the Company in the preceding 12 months for the project in which the damage arose.
This limitation does not apply to damage caused by the Company's wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or where mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
9. Changes and governing law
The Company may amend these terms. Material changes are announced in the Service or by email at least 14 days before they take effect; continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes are brought before the courts having jurisdiction under its Civil Procedure Act. Users resident in Japan are additionally covered by the notice under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions (特定商取引法).
